I think this is a little hilarious

Sports fans in Vancouver go rioting after the Canucks lost to the Boston Bruins...

Even though rioting is awful and probably not a very productive way to express your displeasure over losing, it is a bit amusing to think that a game caused it. Why do Canadians care so much about hockey?

Pat puts everything into perspective

I'm a huge fan of Pat Condell. I have been from the first video of his I saw and while some may say he is an atheist arguing against religion, I would wager he's more of a humanist arguing against intolerance, religious or otherwise. His newest video is amazingly well-spoken and emphasizes a very important issue in the world today; defend ourselves, our rights of free speech and religion, or have them taken from us by force.

Amnesia will make you scream like a school child

So I decided to start playing Amnesia because a bunch of my friends had a discussion over just how effing terrible it is. What I mean is it's scary as fuck, and they were going on and on about this until they moved on to how Justine, the sequel, is even worse. At some point my brain decided "Hey, that's the game for me!," even though I am awful when it comes to horror / thrillers.

Ignoring all that, I went ahead and began my venture deep into the castle/manor/dungeon of infinite death. Needless to say, it scares me shitless so I'm taking a break right now to recoup before I go ahead and try to figure out who that woman screaming "get away from me," is... and what she's screaming at.

How I manage my Dungeons and Dragons (heroin) addiction...

So I basically really like Dungeons and Dragons. While I'm relatively new to the game, and I typically only play 3.5, I love everything it stands for. Unfortunately, I almost never have a group to play with. Something always gets in the way, which makes me eternally sad in the face. That being said, there are a few ways I deal with this problem...

ROUTE 1: CONCENTRATED AWESOME
I love the Order of the Stick so effing much. It's the first way for me to get my DnD fix despite my lack of DM and other PCs. For those of you who don't know, OotS is a web comic depicting a universe more or less based off of the DnD 3.5 rules which has evolved from slap-stick, one-shot humor to a very developed and engrossing story line filled with characters you'll both love and hate. This sounds a bit like an advertisement... but I stand by what I say.

ROUTE 2: DND-BASED GAMING; HAVE I DIED AND GONE TO OLYMPIA?
I actually discovered Neverwinter Nights pretty recently, which leaves me aghast. The game is freaking awesome! It's literally 3.5, except add Faerun and take away all the paperwork, which makes it almost better. The only downside being that, although the feats, spells and classes go far beyond Core, it still doesn't have the freedom and supplements necessary to run around as a focused conjuration Master Specialist with Abrupt Jaunt and can cast in anti-magic fields. Actually, that last part surprised me - the feat that lets you cast in AMF is from Faerun, but ah well. Still, awesomeness all around.

ROUTE 3: INTERNET DND CAMPAIGNS
I only mention this because it's likely a very real solution to a lack of DnD, yet I have never done so myself. A good place to find groups is actually at the OotS forums. I've always been to lazy to look around and find one.
